Thanks for being here

Here is a bit about my photography journey

My love for photography started around age 14 when my dad gave me his old 35mm film camera to use for my first high school film class. I instantly fell in love with the process of taking an image to being able to hold that print in my hands. My passion grew over the years as I continued my education at UVU then at San Francisco Art Institute. I took what I learned from my amazing art teachers and practiced practiced practiced until I developed my own craft and style. Before I knew it, I was shooting weddings at age 20 and it became my life.

Over the last ten years, I’ve realized that my favorite thing about what I do is continuing to give the gift of memories. From a couple’s engagement shoot, to wedding day, to maternity photos, then family photos, being able to capture each chapter of someones life is truly a blessing. The new friendships that have come with what I do has been the most valuable thing for me. I am grateful everyday that I get to carry out my creative passion and bless others with that creativity along the way.

Let's connect on some levels

Get to know me a little more!

Shane and I met when we were freshman in high school. We were best friends throughout high school and went our separate ways for college. After a few years away in other states, we both ended up moving to the Bay Area to finish school. While he was at Berkeley and I was at SFAI, we reconnected and finally tried dating. Dating quickly turned into falling in love and we were inseparable ever since.

In the last ten years of being together, we have lived in Rome, Italy, Kentucky, Los Angeles, and finally back to Northern California where we call home. He is my biggest supporter and constant motivator to continue to pursue my passion.

I married my best friend

These two little toe-heads are my whole world. Evelyn is almost 4 and Brooks is almost two. Evelyn is everything I want to be when I grow up... funny, independent, witty, athletic, and so sweet. As a baby, she actually shot a few weddings with me (strapped in a wrap on me) She might be my future second assistant because every change she gets, she's stealing my camera and taking "pitchers". Brooks is my sweet and tender little guy, but a total terror as the same time. He is either throwing balls as my face or cuddling me for hours, it's the perfect balance of boyhood and I'm obsessed with him.

I am a mama of three

I photograph each wedding with a film body camera and a digital DSLR. My film camera of choice is a Pentax 645 medium format camera... it gives all those dreamy, light and airy photos straight from the film. I use all my film images from the wedding day and match the digitals to them in order to achieve that creamy goodness!

Recently I transitioned from the digital Canon body to the Sony body and have absolutely loved the results! I could talk camera gear all day, especially film cameras... they are vintage gold!

What I Shoot With

If you know me well, you know food is just about my favorite thing. When we have visitors in town, I already have each meal planned out because there is just too much good food to try out there! There's not a week that goes by that I am not trying some new restaurant or little food joint in Northern California. I'm guilty of driving embarrassingly great lengths just to get some food I love. At the end of the day though, good pizza and ice cream will always have my heart.

Food rules my life

Who doesn't love to travel though? There is something amazing about experiencing a brand new place, eating new foods, and meeting the locals.

From Lake Tahoe to Charleston to Edinburg to Amsterdam to Chicago, there are so many cities I have fallen madly in love with. Every time I leave a trip, I always say "That was the best trip!" I find so much joy in immersing myself in a new city and finding new inspiration that I get to carry home with me.

We love to travel and see new places

It is important
to have a connection
to your photographer
for a few reasons...
First and foremost, you should love the"style" of images. The colors, the editing, and overall feeling you get from a photographer's portfolio.
You should enjoy hanging out and chatting with your photographer. You will be spending numerous hours with eachother, so it's important to like being around eachother.
Posing is important so you should be attracted to the flow of a photo session.
I never want your images to go out of style/trend, so I keep the colors as true as possible. Light and clean is my favorite way to edit
I am easy going, friendly, and definitely not a cheesy photographer. I can jive with just about everyone, unless maybe you hated ice cream.
I like to get a good mix of semi-posed and candid but won't say akward things to get a "raw moment" out of you for an image. I like to direct so you feel confident but love to capture all the moving scenes in-between.
